JRK EDC (Every day carry) Knife "Caramel Maple Burl"

Introduction

Looking for a "All rounder" that looks as good as it performs; then this one is for you. With its super light weight and simplistic design; build to last and to make child's play of the toughest jobs. If you are looking for Knife that will not let you down then this one is for you. 

Exceptional Blade quality

We have chosen 3mm (thickness) 1075 (Carbon steel) for the blade material as it is well known for its extreme toughness and edge retention. Together with our meticulous heat treatment and tempering process we are able to achieve a hardness of +-55 RHC. This results in a blade that holds its sharpness for much longer. 

Blade finish

The blade was dipped in Ferric Chloride to give it a nice black rugged look. We also added a Hamon (Differential heat treatment pattern) and a stone wash to add to the appearance.  We have selected a Hollow grind for this blade. Jimping was added to the spine of the blade to assist with grip. Finishing the blade off with a Apple seed edge to ensure it is ready when you are 

Handle material

For the Handle material we have selected Stabelised Caramel Maple burl.  This wood offers great resistance to shock and temperature variations, as well as good grip. As it is stabelised it is the ideal wood for everyday use. 

Hand crafted sheath

The Sheath was hand crafted from 3.2mm Brown Veg tan leather to enable the secure carry of your piece during daily use
