About the Makers

What started as a hobby soon progressed into a business. The interest was sparked when I received my first short Roman sword at the age of 16. My father made it with an old Metal file and his two bare hands. The rest is history. Now we eat sleep and live JRK knives.

We soon discovered that hand-crafted knives are more than just a knife. It is about owning a piece of the maker.

With our constant strive to master the skill and push our own capabilities we have been extremely fortunate to be coached and trained by some of the best knife makers in the International seen. From guild members to even master smith’s.

Our promise to you our valued customer is that we will never rest in pursuing excellence in quality and durability. Where every JRK knife can be carried or admired with pride. There is always a piece from us for you.

Highlights of 2023:

  • Feb 2023: Secured a radio opportunity @93.9fm to introduce our business on The Knife Show. Shared insights into Knife Maker Jaques Kloppers' journey and showcased our offerings.
  • Mar 2023: Enrolled in the ABS Intro to Bladesmithing at Heavin Forge Bladesmithing Studio and School.
  • Mar 2023: Earned the prestigious "Best Novice Working Fixed Blade" award at The Knife Show.
  • Apr 2023: Successfully passed the Performance Test for KGSA.
  • Apr 2023: Completed the Handles, Fittings, and Sheaths course at Heavin Forge Bladesmithing Studio and School.
  • May 2023: Became an apprentice for the American Bladesmith Society.
  • July 2023: Fulfilling moment meeting the inspirational #Will_Stelter in person, a key figure in Jaques' knife-making journey.
  • Oct 2023: Successfully finished the Introduction to Damascus Course at Heavin Forge Bladesmithing Studio and School.
  • Dec 2023: Received the Certificate of Excellence Award for "Best of the Rest" (Straight razor) at the Brooklyn Knife Show.

Highlights of 2022:

  • June 2022: Commenced training with Neels Van Den Berg - Master Smith.
  • Completed the Introduction to Bladesmithing Course with Black Dragon Forge.
  • Showcased an integral knife under the mentorship of Neels Van Den Berg - Master Smith, selling within minutes.
  • Dec 2022: Successfully launched "Knife in a Box."
