Introduction

If you are looking for a Collectors item that will be the talk of the town this is it. With fittings hand crafted out of a old wagon wheel that paid Wheel tax last in 1934 this unique piece will surely draw attention

Exceptional Blade quality

We have chosen 15N20 and 1085 (Carbon Steel) to forge this 352 layers twist Damascus for the blade material. Together with our meticulous heat treatment and tempering process we are able to achieve a hardness of +-60 RHC. This results in a blade that holds it sharpness for much longer.

Blade finish

We have selected a hollow grind for this blade where after it has been hand sanded to a 2000 Grid high satin finish. The blade is then placed in Ferric Chloride to bring out the Damascus pattern. Further enhanced with a Coffee soak overnight.

Handle material

Leadwood "Hardekool" (Combretum imberbe) has been chosen to finish of this unique piece due to the density and durability of the wood. As one of the African hard woods it has excellent resistance against rot and mold making it superb for the task at hand. The Guard, fittings and Pommel nut have all been meticulously hand crafted from a wagon wheel which last paid road tax in 1934. After hand sanding the fittings to 2000 grid we gave them a Ferric Chloride dip to darken and blend them into the rest of this masterpiece.

Hand crafted sheath

The Sheath is manufactured from +- 3.3 mm Gr A Cow Hide leather which can easily be hung close to your working area. With its elegant finish it compliments your hand-crafted piece.
